How to speed up computer boot in Windows 8 onward.
Every time when we boot our computers, specially laptops, it seems like it will take ages to start up. We can go and get a cup of coffee, make in some cases, during that endlessly long waiting time. Tinkering around some settings and using the batman like detective skills we conclude, there are a lot of programs that are running in the background. Lots of 'em if you look in the "Systray" or the so called "Notification Area". Wondering that we didn't start them then how come they are up and running, maybe they are starting up during boot and thus slowing the boot process. How to disable these startup programs?
Now do that.
Right click on the task-bar and click on “Task Manager”.
Click on “More details”.
| Taskmanager |
Switch to “Startup” tab.
![]() |
| Startup Tab |
Right click and select disable for the programs which you
don’t want to be launched when computer boots.
